How to post one video to every social platform at once

5 min readBy Adam

You made one video. Now you have eight apps to put it in. Open each one, upload the file again, paste the caption again, tick the same boxes. It is slow, and it is easy to get wrong.

This guide shows a faster way: upload once, write one caption, and send the video to every platform you picked. It uses PostUno as the example, but the steps apply to any workflow that publishes from a single place.

What "posting everywhere" means

Posting everywhere does not mean one identical post forced onto eight platforms. It means you do the work once and pick where the result goes.

PostUno publishes to Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Threads, Pinterest, X and LinkedIn. You choose which of them get each post. A video that suits YouTube and LinkedIn does not have to go to Pinterest.

Before you start

Get three things ready.

  • The video file. PostUno takes videos up to 500 MB. It stores the file long enough to publish, then deletes it.
  • One caption. Write it once. It goes out with the video on each platform you select.
  • Your accounts. You connect each platform to PostUno with a Connect button and a popup approval. You do this once per account.

Instagram has one extra rule. Its publishing API only works with a Business or Creator account that is connected to a Facebook Page. If your Instagram is a personal account, switch it first.

Step 1: Check the post before you connect anything

You can see how a post will look before you create an account connection. The local preview on the PostUno site lets you choose a file on your device, check the crop and write a caption. Nothing is uploaded or connected while you do this.

Use it to catch problems early. Is the important part of the frame cut off? Does the caption read well when it is the only text a viewer sees?

Step 2: Connect your accounts

Click Connect for each platform and approve the popup. PostUno publishes through the official platform APIs, the same channel Meta and YouTube give to apps. It does not scrape or post like a bot. PostUno keeps your tokens refreshed for you.

If you run client work, keep it separate. PostUno uses a profile per brand. Each profile has its own connected accounts and its own history, so a client's channels never mix with your personal ones.

Step 3: Upload once and write one caption

Open the New post screen. Drop in the video. Write the caption. Select the platforms.

Then choose when it goes out.

  • Post now. The video is sent as soon as you click Post everywhere.
  • Schedule. Pick a time in your timezone. Upcoming posts wait on the calendar in the app until they go out.

Two habits make one caption work across platforms:

  • Put the point in the first line. Some feeds cut a long caption short.
  • Write for a stranger. Someone who has never seen your channel should still understand the post.

Step 4: Watch each platform report back

After you hit Post everywhere, each platform returns its own result. Green means it went out. If one platform fails, you see which one.

This matters because each platform can fail on its own. One failure should not make you guess about the other seven. Retry the one that failed. The rest already posted.

You are not checking eight open tabs to find out what happened.

Photos and carousels

Not every post is a video. Carousels use several images in one post, and platforms limit how many they accept. Instagram takes 2 to 10 items. X takes up to 4. TikTok and YouTube take video only, so a carousel cannot go to them.

Check which platforms fit the format before you select them.

If you already automate

Most people post from the app. If you already run Zapier, Make, n8n or Airtable, those tools can publish through the same API the app uses.

The path is three calls: ask for an upload URL, send the file to it, then create the post. You need an API key. PostUno has a setup guide for each tool on its integrations page. If you do not use those tools, skip this and stay in the app.

You can still post by hand

PostUno does not lock your accounts. You can keep posting in the native apps whenever you want. Use PostUno for the posts where repeating the work is the only cost, and use the native apps for the ones that need something special.

A simple routine

  1. Finish the video.
  2. Open New post and upload it once.
  3. Write one caption that stands on its own.
  4. Select the platforms that suit the video.
  5. Post now, or schedule it in your timezone.
  6. Check the result on each platform and retry anything that failed.

That is the whole job. One upload replaces eight.

Try it

PostUno has a free trial. A card is required to start it, and you can cancel from the billing portal before it ends. See the pricing page for what the first brand costs and how extra brands work.
